Forgotten Wars

« back

A protest song for world peace. Life is precious to us all irrespective of our nationality, whether or not we follow religion and if we do which one. So what’s the fighting for?

The first come last, the rich come poor
The strong come weak, the doubtful sure
Forgotten souls from forgotten wars
And not a war worth fighting for

(Chorus)
If I should die before I wake, I ask the Lord my soul to take
If I should die while I’m asleep, I ask the Lord my soul to keep

Truth follows lie, day follows night
Sure as darkness follows light
A peaceful dawn will follow strife
One day, one month, one year, one life

(Chorus)

From right to left, North to South
East to West, flood follows drought
These barren lands burst into flower
This year, this month, this day, this hour

(Chorus)

Muslim, Buddhist, Christian, Jew
Non believers, me and you
We all want peace, we don’t want war
Can you tell me what this fightings for

(Chorus)

Ash to ash, dust to dust
Birth to death, them or us
Each life it’s precious to us all
To those who live, and to those who fall

(Chorus)

The first come last, the rich come poor
The strong come weak, the doubtful sure
Forgotten souls from forgotten wars
And not a war worth fighting for

(Chorus)
